Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
When i accelerate going on the highway ramp i get some fumes into the cabin idk what exactly it is. I just want to figure out how to fix it. I am going to recheck the exhaust manifold. Maybe add some lock tight to the bolts. I know they always come loose but any other ideas where this could he coming from?
@hummerz do you think this is the only spot the issue could be from? i am going to add some blue locktite to the bolts see if that helps
Check the flange connection where the exhaust system connects to the manifold. Also could be a crack in the manifold? Look for any trace of black carbon, or have someone hold a rag on the tailpipe and listen for a leak.
is the smell coming from the drivers side rear passenger area? does it smell like fuel? the top of your fuel pump might be rotted out. and if it is then really inspect your break lines as they might also be compromised.

many options. bad manifold gasket, burst manifold (common problem). oil escapes from under the valve covers and enters the manifold. All this can be checked with a smoke generator. where is the leak. On a cold engine, this may not be, only on a hot one it will appear.
