I'm in MI, that pic is my old 07 in PA from 9 years ago. There is rock in MI, just gotta know where to go. Like Taint's favorite place, Drummond Island.

The H3 air intake is from the inner fender not the grill. I've seen water over the hood on H3s with no snorkel. Not a good practice, but seen it many times.

thunderface13,
PLENTY of wheeling here in MI that does NOT involve mud pits! Public land and private parks.
1st rule of "MUDDIN", if you want to "MUD" you don't buy an IFS rig.
2nd rule of "MUDDIN", don't buy a 5 cylinder IFS rig with 5700lbs plus to push around.
3rd rule of "MUDDIN", seal every darn thing in the engine compartment and rerun EVERY breather because you WILL get stuck in deep stuff.

Hope this helps!

No plan to go deep muddin lol. Mostly Bundy hill (Near home we are in onsted) and maybe a trip up to silver lake or Holly Rec. /Off road park they just opened up there. Oh and maybe the mounds (That is where the Trailblazer took a poop on a Jeep Trail)

We got it running again and he drove home BUT 2 weeks later he had rods knocking and the engine gave up on his way to work. He ended up replacing it with a Junk yard engine with less miles but still cost him a day at work and time to source the engine remove install all that BS. I also found the Air Box deal on top of the engine is not on right leading me to believe further it had some sort of intake on it other than factory. Best guess is the guy stripped it before he traded it in to the dealer that then sent to auction where we purchased it threw a friend. Not bad truck for what we paid for it. Just needs a little work to be really nice. Lots of miles though lol.
Where are your pictures?

I believe you meant to say "negative" about IFS?

If you don't know already, weakness.
MUDDIN' takes tall/big tires, ground clearance and wheel speed to clean out those tall/big tires voids.
Tall/Big tires and wheel speed with IFS = BOOM!
About as elementary as I can put it.
