Interesting. The terminology "floating caliper slide pins" doesn't describe the pins themselves, as every disk brake caliper floats on the slide pins. Every vehicle I've ever owned (I'm 62) has had 1-piece caliper pins that simply unbolt and pull out of the back of the caliper/mount. But to be fair, I haven't yet needed to do the brakes on my H3, so...

The two piece slider is how all hondas and most cars today are...

The h2 has one piece sliders, t55 abominations that are made of play-doh and fuse with *the caliper* rather than the bracket...

As for "All calipers slide on a slide pin" well you certainly are in your 60s 🤣

Any caliper worth a flying crap is a fixed aluminum design with pistons on both sides of the disk and changing pads involves lifting them out of a slot on top like changing an 8-track

All these sliding (seizing) one side of the rotor destroying massey furguson calipers are the cause of threads like this the internet over...

I guess in 1898 machining a brake caliper cylinder was too elaborate for them lol

Thanks so much for tacking your comment on the end of this 15 Month OLD Thread, clearly we could not have been able to get along with HF without that valuable info.
