Default Rattling while driving

I have a 2005 h3 hummer It sounds like a marble bouncing around while driving it sounded like it was coming from the transfer case I took off the front drive draft the noise stopped could this be the cv joint connected to the transfer case there is no slippage no load or hard shifting just a rattling noise when driving.

Yes it could be that I did get underneath and have my wife drive slow it sounded like it was coming from the transfer case or around the cv joint so I took the front drive shift off and no noise I'm just trying to confirm my suspicion that it is in fact the cv joint and not the worse problem of the transfer case.

You got underneath while your wife was driving and you're still alive?
Just grab the shaft and check for movement as shown in the video above!

Welcome to HF.

Wait, you have a 2005 H3????? In your question no mention of MILES??????

Every tech question should begin with Year (there are no 2005 H3s), Model of H3, and MILES.

This was the cause of 1 of my 3 rattles. The 2nd was the dust shield behind the brake rotor. 3rd was the little vent in the rear hatch behind the spare tire.
