Well, that's interesting... The top one is factory style the bottom I've not personally come across.
Both 06 & 07 use/d top picture style fitting. I've replaced a couple times and read a lot of threads but not seen the screw on type.
The top photo is your standard OEM GM "quick connect". Somebody modified the connection in your bottom photo. No doubt somebody that thought the quick connect was just a nut, which it is NOT. Many a novice has messed up their radiator when unscrewing the quick connect.
