I will check out your thread forsure. Now that I have replaced everything on the top end and all timing component. I noticed very fine spider cracks on the timing cover. So I will be replacing that now I guess FFS. I have not been working on the unit very much but once that is here I should be able to wrap this damn thing up lol. Does anyone know if I have to take the hummer to a dealer to recalibrate for the new head and update the ecm???

Default Vin number for bad Valve seats ?

I am a brand new Hummer H3 Forum member (just joined an hour ago!)
Bought my 2006 H3 3.5 just 3 months ago. 130,000 miles 5 speed manual...crappy gas mpg. at 12mpg in town
(haven't taken it on any real Hwy trips to know how bad that is lol) My Daily is a 2002 VW Jetta TDI Deleted EGR 5 speed manual (52 mpg Hwy.... so I'm a little spoiled!) ...but a real fun vehicle to drive...came with 305/70R16s... I think the front Diff Fork is faulty as it hops while hard turning, but the tires aren't hitting anywhere.
I did a Compression test before I bought it... they were all right about 160lbs.

You stated "VIN FALLS INTO THE GROUP OF JUNK SEATS 164411".... Can you give me a list of Vins that are supposed to be bad ?

Thanks a bunce !
Cool name... my son's name is Bennett !

Yeah I read all of the posts in this thread... and I didn't see anything about Vin numbers related to the 2006 3.5 engine Vin numbers that had the possible faulty Valve seats !

Got any other Helpful Info for a New Member you obnoxious Prik ?

OK, so you cannot READ: WTF does it mean when I wrote any S/N lower than 287591 ?
"Is your Vin# within the range of the 3.5Ls under recall as built prior to the hardened valve seats????

The S/Ns affected is any 2006 H3 lower than 287591 ...."

Really impressive start to your forum membership, can't read, whine and complain about failure to read, and throw out the insults when pointed and laughed at.

Good luck.

Smile

My H3 had fallen below the vin # with suspected problems. Cylinder leak down failed and compression was 120psi, 140psi 170psi 140psi 170psi, I had three sets of valves leaking on intake side. Exhaust side leaked out of two sets of valves. Made it pulse idle really weird lol. Finally fired it up last night with ease. I will upload more pictures as soon as I have it out. The new head has a tiny bit of chatter but should level out when I go for a good drive.

Angry

Well did a crank relearn on the unit, was running perfect for a few days. Then I pulled up to a light and it stalled out. Started the hummer again and headed over to a friends place where it stalled again and only at idle. Did a crank relearn ran perfect for 10 km then stalled again. Will try to diag the crank sensor. Now it wont hold an idle without stalling, runs smooth over 700 rpm and has no cel or codes. Ready to dig a hole and push this in lol. Any one else have any ideas?
