Default Possible Problem with BCM

Had a viper alarm installed, when I picked the vehicle up the guy asked if I ever had a problem taking the key out the ignition (I hadn't)? A bit after the key got stuck in the ignition it would take days to release, it did this a few times to where I just left the key in the ignition (was stuck). It was also stuck in the on position which drained my battery. I changed the egnition control module & that wasn't the problem. In actuality the only way we could get the key to work accurately is we didn't reconnect it. My widows would work sometimes until they just stopped working completely. Also wiper blades not working. Dealership told me it is the BCM but said I should have the alarm taken off because it's causing problems (wasn't specific in what problems). Has anyone experienced this problem? After I have the alarm taken off will I still need to get another BCM?

Welcome to HF.

If the key stuck thing happened after the Bozo installed the alarm, the two are related. Take it back, get a refund or have them correct their screw up. An "installer" has to actually know what they are doing with H3s and remote starts/alarms or you WILL have issues.

It is also possible that your BCM could have an issue that started coincidentally with the install, but I doubt it.

Do you have a sunroof? If so, has your passenger floor ever been wet? Have you don the sunroof drain fix yet? BCMs do not like water.

Do you have another key to try? Maybe the key got damaged when they did the install.

The key will be locked into the ignition any time the battery is low/dead.
