Default Passlock Parts

Good morning.
When it rains it pours. After my door not opening problem, now I'm having the dreaded passlock issue. Never had it before. Started on Monday. Took apart the column, cleaned the contacts, away I went.
Last night and this morning it is happening again. This, to me, seems to be something other than a bad connection at this point.

Called the local GM dealer, and the cylinder housing and passlock sensor is $328. Ouch. p/n they quoted me is GM15795322, though I saw GM15795321 in a youtube video (dealer quoted the 22 part with my VIN so I trust it).
Looking online I can get a cylinder housing and passlock sensor for $30 from ebay. Both would be about the same timeframe to get (Friday / Monday).

Does anyone have experience from the ebay units, or another supplier? Normally I would go with the better part, but there are plenty of other places I could use $300.

You do not need the lock cylinder at all, only the ignition switch.

I am sure you have seen this before. Pic courtesy of hummerz

Yes, have seen this picture before (thank you). I have searched for just the ignition switch to no avail. I did find a "genuine GM" part on amazon for $94 and I went with it. I plan on only replacing the ignition switch - I just paid for more than I needed.

I have been suffering this issue this entire week. I have cleaned the connectors MANY times with the same CRC cleaner. It has been cold, and from what I've read (here and other places) cold seems to make this worse. Getting stuck somewhere for 10 or 20 minutes is getting old. But hopefully tomorrow I'll have the replacement in, and the problem will be solved.

Yes, thank you, I saw this post and I tried to post a private message. I'm looking now and I don't think it went through - probably because the user is so new. I'll post in the tread.

I bought the 5322 and had the dealer install and relearn etc and has worked perfect at least the last 5 years…much needed fix!

My '07 original factory assembly line installed 15795322 still works perfect(after a couple cleanings on the switch/connector contacts along the way)
