Parking brake light not going OFF.
2007.
Just purchased this H3 and of course the parking brake was not full engaging, nor releasing. I adjusted the cable under the frame rail and now it actually engages when I push the pedal down. I still have the problem of when I disengage the parking brake, it comes releases only 80% of it's stroke, but not enough to fully disengage and flip the parking brake switch to the OFF (light on the dash) position. I checked the release cable under the dash and it's in place. I also lubricated the spring and linkage under there to no avail.
Suggestions?

Check and make sure the parking brake actuators at the wheel hub are not binding due to age/corrosion and lube/work them as needed until they fully release. If they were sticking re-adjust your parking brake, first at the wheel then at the cable along the frame rail.
Here's a couple of videos I watched to help me understand what all was in there before doing mine, and the factory service manual section on the parking brake adjustment.
It's like most drum brakes with a star wheel adjuster that you can access through the back plate (behind the rubber plug). If the actuator is sticking you will need to fix that first either by replacing, or lubricating and working it free.
