When my Chevy truck started to run hot at idle, the problem was the radiator fan clutch

Hi. The problem with overheating is easily solved. You need to move the thermostat to the top. The problem disappears)).

It ran better and took longer to overheat but still overheating. Prior to replacing radiator, overflow was full of thick mud like liquid.
This suggests that oil is mixing with the coolant, likely from a blown/bad head gasket.

maybe the timing is a bit off or jumped a few teeth causing too much advance timing or maybe the exhaust is plugged up. need to check for exhaust back pressure

UPDATE:Just let in run for 10 min in the driveway. Cold engine and no drips of any kind (see pic) , after 10 min, warm engine oil oozing from pan (see pic) and milkshake on oil dipstick and under fill cap.
headgasket was replaced 50-ish miles ago.

the same guy who’s been working on it from the start. Shade tree but that’s all he does so his shop is his house. I’m beginning to think he put the gasket on upside down. But that oil leak in the above pics.. yikes! What’s going on w this thing? Do I need t take it elsewhere or will the milkshake be a definite diagnosis?

DO NOT run engine, repair the coolant leak, drain/refill engine oil, prevent Spun Bearings
