Default Oil pressure problem

2007 hummer h3 140k miles. Engine rebuilt, oil pump is not that old. Lately I been getting oil pressure symbol and dinging when I start the car after it sits off overnight. It stays on but once I rev to 2000 it goes away . I tested the oil pressure previously and I was getting like ****ty oil pressure. I took off the oil pan and my pick up tube was just dirty at the screen and probably from all the stuff that flushed from the engine after a rebuild. I took off the tube and installed a brand new one . Started the car the next day after putting fresh mobile 1 oil and filter and I get dinging again. I rev it to 2000 it goes away..

I am gonna test again for oil pressure tomorrow morning when it’s sitting cold overnight to see what it shows

but what would be the problem?? I replaced the sensor and the connector too.

The car idle fine but I do hear little ticking from the top that goes away when the symbol goes away

thank you

Were you having this problem before you did your engine rebuild, or did it only start occurring afterwards?

When you installed the second oil pickup tube, did you remove the old gasket that sits between the oil tube and the engine block and install a new gasket?

Was the second oil pickup tube you installed brand new, or used?

If there is no gasket between the pickup tube and the engine block, or if you didn’t remove the old one and say now there are two gaskets sitting between the the engine block and the pickup tube, then there could be a leak which is causing the oil pump to suck up air.

Lastly, how old is the pump itself? Was it replaced at the rebuild? If so, what brand?

Here is a view of the pickup tube gasket.

it occurred after few days from the engine build, and the tube was clogged with all kind of stuff that flushed from the engine. As for the new tube is brand new with new gasket . And yes I removed the old gasket and cleaned under it

I replaced the pump around 10/2023 and I got SKP

Default Update

So I just want to give an update about the issue that I had. It was my oil pump . It seem some debris from engine rebuilt went there and just made it go wear or bad so I replaced that and now it?s been running good
