Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Previous owner must have read codes by sticking his finger in the tailpipe!? I found a replacement port on Rockauto but I need to find out the wiring pin out.
Can anyone offer help on the pinout for the OBD2 port? A link to wiring diagrams etc
I wired in the new OBD2 port and it does not work. Fuse 51 on this 06 H3 is for the obd (or DLC). The fuse has 12 vdc but the orange wire does not. I checked the two ground wires and there is no continuity to the body/chassis. I followed the wiring from inside the cab to under the hood and found the 4 wires for the port have been cut and taped up. Sure would like to know why….

Wrong wires. I posted the pinout above. PU=PURPLE - BK=BLACK - BK/WH= BLACK WITH WHITE TRACER -OG=ORANGE:
I realized the colors did not match but those are the only wires under the dash that were exposed (and clearly cut.) It looks like they were run separately on the outside of the main bundle of wires. You can see them in the pic where I was holding the taped ends. It is a mystery at this point. I found some diagrams and have been looking through them. Hopefully if it doesn't get too cold, I will be able to dig in further. Hard to do anything when it gets dark at 5pm though. There was also another plastic wire guard pushed through the firewall next to the bundle, but it is empty.
Some strange little things Im finding with this truck. OBD2 port is missing, horn was missing... might have bought a lemon. Luckily the truck is running all right for the moment, I just really need to get this port working to see why the check engine light is on. Maybe I'll get lucky and just need a new gas cap, lol.
The 4 terminated wires in your photo are for accessory pass through the firewall. There will be 4 corresponding terminated wires under the dash near/behind the parking brake.
