Good day/night folks, I got a customer that has a 2007 H3 Base and originally he had me do the blower motor but he said he wanted the radio to work so I tested all the fuses, literally every single one. None were bad, and then from there I thought maybe the fuse in the back of the radio was bad, I was wrong, I took out the aftermarket plug and tested the wires for voltage, zilch. No voltage whatsoever, im stuck. Perhaps its a bad amp? I heard battery cables were a thing that goes bad on this too. The customer wants new carpet, seats, etc. So either way I am going to end up going thru the whole vehicle and If its not a problem I cant find quick I am going to have to trace all the wiring in which I looked at several diagrams, so perhaps its just the amp? I am not sure, I dont normally get these in so any direction would be great thanks!

 

Radio gets its power from fuse 13 - this is hot at all times so if you have no power at the radio connector (orange wire, pin B1) you will need to trace that. Check and make sure there is power at this fuse. The head does not get power from the amp.

if there is power at the head and the head does not power on confirm digital communications to the BCM.

This assumes that if its an aftermarket radio its not a hack job.

 

The H3 Battery Cables are fine, the problem is the Battery Terminal Connectors and they have nothing to do with your no juice at the radio.
