I'd encourage you to drop the word 'retarded' from your vocabulary. There are plenty of other words to get your point across, without disrespecting someone who may have a condition that is entirely out of their control.

Definitely ghetto, unless you're planning to pimp your ride, along with some dub deuces & spinners.

When I landed my 09 Alpha, the Nerf Bars were off in under 10 days, hat them Nurse Bars. They get mutilated the minute you get off pavement, look lame and not needed. Just my opinion.

Still driving with oe nurfs. Easy to clean those paint scuffs off chrome, vs body paint. Just checked mine, and I have multiple colors from other's car doors to clean again. The body is still clean.

Hi,

I'm of the opinion that it's your ride. Please do what brings you pleasure with your H3. Always remember that most of the people on this form have a boner for blacked out lol
I too, preferer lil chrome.
I also don't agree with the saying chrome wont get ya home! Because I've seen plenty a jeep and hummer all deathed out and there just as retarded. It's a word. It's in the dictionary. I'll continue to use it just like stupid, dumb, etc...

God knows I've been all those things and more in my 49+yrs.

regardless of chrome or matte black, I wouldn't. On the upside, small critters might find them cozy and decide to make a home in them as opposed to under the hood, so at least they might save your headlight wiring...

Just my two cents because I live in an off-road area and also don't have a garage. If you ever go off-road with your truck - the chrome steps you are considering may hinder your ability to drive on certain trails, also off-roading on sandy areas - that can get in the tubes and will need a thorough cleaning. I pulled my chrome side steps, I am also pulling my rock guards - which are nothing more than sand collectors. Anything chrome on my truck will eventually get sanded down - I plan to put a bedliner type finish on them - that seems to hold up better to the salt air here.

Best of luck on your purchase - everyone has their own taste in how they want their vehicles to look.
