Need Help
I have a 07 H3, that had a "clicking" noise that sounded like it was coming from the right front. Long story short was told by several that it is the RF CV shaft. I changed the shaft and still had the problem. I then walked next to the vehicle while a buddy drove it up the driveway and it sounded like the front driveshaft going from the Diff to the TC. Removed it, pulled it off the lift, started it, put it in reverse and it wouldn't move. Put it in 4hi lock and backed it out side. Drove it up the driveway. Clicking noise was gone. Pulled it back in the shop and attempted to put it back into 4hi and it started to grind. So I put it back into 4Hi lock. Got the shaft today and replaced the shaft. I; again, attempted to put it back into 4hi, got the same grinding noise but it went in. Pulled it out and drove it out of the shop and drove it up the driveway. Clicking noise gone. I drove it about 1.5 miles and while I was driving it (in 4hi) it went into natural by its self and I heard a "high whizzing noise" and I pulled over. I put it into park and it stopped. Put it back into gear (D) and the same occurred. Went through all the gears (AT) & reverse the same noise. Put it back into 4hi Lock and was able to drive it back home. Got up to about 40 mph and transferred it back into 4hi and drove fine until I took my foot off the accelerator, and it went back into neutral. Now I cant even put the TC into neutral, it wont go, and I simultaneously pushed 4hi lock & lo lock for longer than the 10 seconds. It would not go into neutral....??? Have I "jacked" the truck up or is there a simple fix?
