Default Is my oil usage normal?

I have an '08 Alpha with 51,000 miles. I'm using approximately 1 quart oil per 2000 miles (5-W30 Mobil 1, no leaks). All city driving and no towing. Does that sound normal?

My 09 Alpha doesn't use any oil between oil changes, stays full. I use Mobil 1 as well.

check your PCV system? maybe its pulling more oil then it should? if it's excessive it might pool inside the intake plenum.

Nope, nothing Wil. Just for the heck of it I called the Hummer Dealership Service Dept. and explained the situation in detail. He said that was perfectly normal, to use a quart every couple of thousand miles and even new vehicles can use that. Normally I would take what the dealer tells me with a grain of salt, but, then again, normally the dealer will tell you something that brings you in for service.

Just Googled and found this article....guess I'm safe.

I'm not buying it! I just did my annual oil change a couple days ago, just under 2k miles since last change. All I do is pull the plug and filter and allow to drain in 2 separate pans, and walk away. After doing some yard work, I installed a new acd filter and drain plug, then refilled with exactly 6qts mobil1 full syn.=FULL
I emptied the old oil filter, and the drain pans, and filled 2 bottles with the used oil:
