Mpg

2009 Lux with new 285's and I always end up with 14.2 - 14.5 no matter what we do with mix of city and hwy. Each week the same. Winter drops down to about 13. I upgraded to 285's from the 265's so each fillup I add about 10 miles to the calculation total miles/gallon. No speedo changeover...

I get between 17.5 and 18.4 mpg on stock H3 with 285s. That's with driving no faster than 65 mph. As well as using A/C over 60 mph and rolling down the windows going under 60 mph. Also a whole lot of cruise control. Driving is solid 50/50 between highway and driving.

Been checking mine consistently for the past 3 months and with combine city and hwy travel I am averaging right at 15.75 mpg each tankful. Gonna be taking a hwy only road trip late this week and am interested in what I get with that. Don't have too high expectations. In fact anything near 18 would make me feel pretty good about stuff.

When I first picked up my H3 in Las Vegas I clocked 20mpg to my home in Arizona. This is with the 285's, auto and no roof rack. I would get between 16-17 mpg around town only. When I went to my BFG MT's in 35"s I now get about 14 around town and 16-17 mpg on the highway only.
The extra ground clearance and more proportional looks is worth it for me.

That's probably it, skeeet. Back then I normally bought my gas at Costco and I have heard that they get theirs from all different sources.
Since then I have left CA and moved to TX... spent a little time in my hometown in North GA in the meantime too. I get better mileage on this end of the country than I did in CA. I think it must be because of the quality of the fuel. Kinda typical for CA. They do all sorts of stuff to cut down emissions on everything but they don't take into account the additional amount of fuel you have to burn to do the same job so it actually comes out worse in the long run.
