make sure your OnStar system is activated.... never hurts to use them for backup.
a towrope/winch, an axe and a shovel in addition to the UCP and rock sliders are about as budgeted as you can get for a more advanced trail. they should be able to get you out of most any jamb in NC, other than mud or rock crawling, which is a whole other game.
