Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Lately the H3 has been making a metal rattling sound mainly while decelerating and also when I hit bumps. I jacked the naughty girl up and looked under her skirt and found that when I twist or shake this front drive shaft it makes the same exact sound, so I'm thinking this is the problem. The problem is, im used to working on camaros and other rear wheel drive vehicles so I dont even know what this thing is. This shaft is under the front of the vehicle between the front differential and the transmission. I think... lol. Any of you pros out there mind giving me a clue?
The sound appears to be mainly coming from the back (transmission end) of this shaft. See the attached pics.

No problem. Btw, I noticed the Hercules tires, American made, right here in O-H-I-O.
Here's the part needed GM5105(15104642)
That's what I call attention to detail. These tires have been great, OHIO has been doing great work.
Excellent, I'll be ordering one of those tonight. Glad to see its not very expensive.
