I have a mysterious sound. I had a bad wheel bearing, switched it out, had a bad cv shaft, switched it out and another sized part which I switched it out.
The vehicle continues to the make the sound. The mechanic down the street has no clue spent 4hrs trying to figure out and thinks it may be transmission issue.
Have you done any modifications to the front, like T Bar leveling? If so, what is the dimension from lip of the front fender to center of the front hub.
Bit confused about the cv shaft description... did you replace the original with an ACDelco GM Half shaft or are you using cheap junk? I as because some of the foreign trash replacement parts available are too short and the spline for the shaft can pull out of the front diff enough to cause the damage.
That sounds bad...
I'd start by verifying that the differential support was present and accounted for with zero damage.
I'd make sure that you were indeed sold ac delco parts and that they are properly installed.
I'd make sure both CV shafts were inspected and replaced with proper ones.
I'd check to see if you have a failing ball joint, upper a arm, lower a arm or torsion bar.
You may want to get a second opinion from another qualified tech.
Sounds to me like the Front Differential Axle Output Shaft, Spider gears or Pinion is missing some teeth. Stop driving it! You can do a ton more damage with pieces flipping around in your diff.
Part #21, #37-#43 or Part #34
This is what happens when you drive on a broken shaft or pinion
Update: Switched out the other wheel bearing on the other, the sound stop just like previously. Last time I drove 500KMS before it did it again. Will give it a try
