Hummer H3 2007 NOT REGISTERING GEAR SHIFT
I’ve searched the forum for 3 days. No one seems to be having the EXACT issue in having. Though some are similar. So, I was driving up the road at about 35-40 MPH. When my hummer just stopped accelerating. Engine components are fine, transmission is certified rebuilt. I can start the car and shift it into gear, but said gear does not register. The light indicator on the dash for the gear selection works as it should but does not actually register the gear. In any gear if I press the gas the car won’t move. I’m assuming it’s some sort of transmission sensor, or maybe even my PCM. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Certified rebuilt when.... how many miles ago? Rebuilds are only as good as the rebuilder and any Trans can fail. That is why I take very good care of my Transmission Guy.
Don't know what you mean by "gear does not register." When the trans was rebuilt, what where the symptoms then? You know, like you put it in gear and it doesn't move, which is the classic sign of a toasted Trans.
Have you scanned it for any codes? An electrical issue would register a code most of the time.
Have you got under it to inspect the linkage to the Trans? What is the Trans fluid level and condition (color/smell)?
