Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Aye, will polish shaft and take little bit of extra, then will use new sleeve with rollers.
This has happened because I was driving with 4HI locked, even indicator showed that I was in 4HI unlocked.
As load on this is only when turning with 4HI locked.
I had plastic fork changed to metal, half a year ago, then this shaft was healthy.
Will have to figure out how to diagnose 4Hi locked-unlocked state.
As I click buttons, state changes.
I remember when I clicked 4HI from 4HI locked there was no sound, but indicator changed anyway.
Maybe encoder motor problem. No codes about it though.

how long were you driving in 4 hi 🔒 for this to happen? I mean you couldn’t tell the back wheels were grabbing?
That is the weirdest thing, I did not felt/heard back wheels grabbing more than few instances.
There was some instances where I was backing up with HI locked, unlocked, moved forward and had wheels skipping, then it stopped.
Anyway, shaft is polished, everything is being put together, some bearings needed change, input bearing had a play, will fix it up and see how it goes.
Will keep eye on wheels.
