..:: The High Temp situation ::..
Thanks DOC OLDS, will check my scanner for the feature and hopefully it has it.
Anyways, moving down my to-do list with this recently acquired truck, I will be replacing the Transfer case dipstick tube next week since the the attachment to the engine is broken, and it is lose in there; at which time I will also have replaced TC filter and fluid since I do not know when it was last done.

Good luck.
Correct, my bad! BTW, my OBD does show ATF temp, it seems to be holding between 190 & 197; I say it seems because I would need to buy the PRO version for it to give the proper reading so I'll pull that trigger later in the day. Also, let me know why you asked about the type of fuel I was using, which is Chevron 87 -I try to always fuel up in Chevron gas stations. Thanks again.
Higher octane fuel burns a cooler than low octane. Lots of customers in desert regions will run 91 or better in extreme heat to reduce temps as much as possible. It won't make your car perform any better if your PCM is not tuned to look for that octane, but it will burn a wee bit cooler.
You are not in the desert, but South Florida is a hot muggy mess in the summer so I just thought I would ask.
