Default High engine bay temperature

Today I was driving my 2007 H3 around town and a few back roads. No speeds over 60. When I got home I noticed the engine bay was very hot. I have a thermal thermometer and the top of the crankcase was about 700 F. The exhaust to the header was around 2,000F. The gauge on the dash reads normal temp( half way). I hooked up my OBD reader and checked the running coolant temp. According to the reader the running temperature was about 200F. I also smell oil, I recently changed the oil so that could be the smell but not sure. I also park over a cardboard box so I can see if oil leaks. No oil leaking. My question is what could cause this issue

Driving can cause your issue, and it will every time until the outside temperature is much colder.
