Default High beams - do you use them?

The low beams seem to illuminate way more with the combination of the fog lights. We hardly ever use the high beams now because they shut off. Just wondering if others feel the same.

Also, has anyone changed out their bulbs for the better? If so what did you put in?

high reaches out but ideal is hi+fog.

someone posted how to do it with a diode between 2 relays and i lost it.

im an elex man but so far,,too lazy to figger it out!

if he dont show up soon,,ill dig into the book. it just really takes some diggin and i hate reinventing the wheel.

btw those bl,wht were 3700 k i think.
i would not bother with the hi bright. it might be that my eyes like the yellow more than the white?? im 68

i know nothing of the hid however. thats for u or someone..

expensive for what u get ,,i think,,also messy to do

hahah, ya I use them from time to time but when I hit that lever and the fog lights go out....it seems like alot is lost. HID isn't for me. I'll do some digging for the fog light mod. Thanks. Althought it is illegal in NYS to run both.

drtom and Mr. Fancy Pants......I made a diagram to wire the fogs with the highs, and it's worked great. A while back, another member asked me for it, but no matter what format I tried (word, excel, power point or even a bitmap image,) I keep getting a message that the file is too large to attach. I had him PM me with an e-mail address, and sent it to him that way. He said it was an easy mod, and worked great. I can do the same for you guys if you want.

Well, I used to use highbeams until I cranked my tbars :\ But I concur, the low beams+fogs work GREAT. Now that my tbars are cranked, my hi beams end up looking at tree tops lol.

And YES, you can upgrade the bulbs (or rich and feeling lucky, get hid's.. but I see them as pointless). There was a good thread on cho about upgrading all the headlights/fogs with Sylvania's. They are like 40$ each but they are supposed to help ten-fold with illuminating the road

You could always open the file on your pc so it fills your screen, press and hold the ALT button and press the PRNT SCRN button at the same time. Open your photo program, press CTRL + V to paste it in. Do a save as jpg or jpeg and you should be good to go for attaching the file! Or host it on www.imageshack.us (upload it) and copy/paste the direct link code here.

Most forums limit the size of other files but jpg files can be larger by default on this forums software.

I would love the file. I will pm you my email address. Thanks!!

I don't ever use them. After leveling the dims and fog combination are so bright that every third car brights me.... I thought about reaiming the headlights but don't know what level to bring them down to. I found the adj. screws and have a good level wall and concrete to park it on but can't find any info on proper aiming. How far from wall, how many inches from ground for beam center, etc...

Amen to that. I get at LEAST 3 people giving me the brights any time I drive at night bcause they think I'm brighting them.

I too would like more info on the headlights because the high beams are rarely useful unless I'm on hills etc, since they are aimed so high up.

But I must admit, leveling the truck really did make the lights LIGHT up the road. It's great.
