Default Help! Installing new stereo for son's birthday!

And it is not going well at all.

Alpine ILX-650 head unit with Access AX-GMCL2 interface.

We have everything working but the parking brake circuit. I checked my connections and they are right.

Crutchfield was not much help.

Which wire is feeding the factory stereo plug from the parking brake?

most of the time you can just ground the radio parking brake wire. then it always works no need to put the brake to watch things.

On this one the parking brake has to be set-released-set again before it will allow you to access the setup mode.

If you tap the thingamagiggy that came with the kit it goes into the settings mode.... or it looses all power.

I think we have a defective thingamagiggy

OK, just did this with 3 Alpine ILX-650 head units. 1 for each of our vehicles (2 H3Ts and The EXCURSION). It is a pain to depress the pedal then release then depress again in the allotted time Alpine gives you.

1. Do yourself a favor and get the Alpine Micro bypass. Buy this exact one!
2. Then watch the video link. you ONLY need to connect 3 wires for the ILX-650 (new style).

This way you can adjust the tone settings and other things while moving too.

Taint, what radio adapter did you use for the H3T installs?

With Monsoon I use Crux SOCGM-17C -
Amazon Amazon

Simple install with the new solder seal wire connectors. I use them on everything 12V now.
