Default Help inspecting H3

I found an H3, it’s a pretty good drive to check out. I know my way around basic car stuff. But any suggestions for specific things to look for with a H3?
-How to check radiator? (What fluids do I inspect for a broken radiator leaking transmission fluid?)
-I know GM loves to change color of radiator fluid every couple of years it seems. What color should it be? and what should it def NOT be?
-How can I check function of axle lockers?
Any other specific things should I look for?

thank you!

Welcome to HF.

Year and model you are looking at make a difference.

Check motor oil and trans fluid with a clean white cloth looking for any foam/bubbles. The Trans fluid is the same for all H3s with ATs: Dexron VI Full Synthetic, the Bright Red stuff.

Radiators all call for Dex-Cool: the Orange stuff. Look in the reservoir for crud and or foam as well as in the top of the cold radiator.

Depending upon year or model, you may have no lockers at all. Read the on line owner's manual about shifting the Transfer Case and Locker buttons so you can switch to T Case lock and low range in a gravel parking lot (not on any dry hard surface).

If it has a sunroof, look for evidence of clogged drains like a wet passenger side floor carpet...

I have used these check lists many times. There are some items that you may not think of when doing a pre purchase check.
