I have an 2006 H3 and I would like to upgrade it some. In particular I'm thinking of replacing the V6 with a V8 because I feel it lacks some power. I'm not a huge mechanical "car guy" but someone suggested that I could upgrade the V6 and get more HP out of it instead of replacing the engine. I just need some input from you pro's out there.

 

a v6 would not be bad in an h3 but unfortunately the h3 has a inline 5 cylinder. the simplest swap to a v8 is sell your h3 and buy an alpha model.

 

Supercharge the V6.

 

Why not put a v 12 up in there...

Special addition V6???????????????? What you don't know is the I5 creates plenty of power like all straight motors, down low torque. Intake, Cat Back exhaust, PCM Tune, Efan conversion and if that is not enough...............
Sell your present H3 and find a 2008+ Alpha with 5.3L V8. All it takes is time and money.

 

The fact you typed V6 means you should just walk away from doing ANY modifications to yours or anyone else's vehicle.
Stick to what you know, an engine swap is NOT what you know.
