Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Greetings All,
Finally bought my Hummer - 2008 H3 Alpha with 113k miles, well optioned and decked out with a winch and good off-road lighting. Drove it home (Missouri) from Texas with no incidents and was very impressed with the handling and the ride - much better than I expected. However, once I hit the roads here in the Ozarks (SW Missouri) I notice a slight vibration/shutter when I went around curve while going up hill. At first, I thought it was a worn u-joint but when I check I found nothing suspicious. After driving in this area for about 7k miles, the problem has gotten noticeably worse. Engine runs great and transmission shifts smoothly throughout the RPM range. I have drained and replace (several times now) both the rear end and transfer cases fluid being sure to use the proper additive in the rear end. All fluids were clean and showed no signs of damage or wear. Suggestions?? Proud owner of a Hummer H3 Alpha
I MOVED this for you because you landed your thread in the FAQ Section that has a Stcky Thread up at the top telling people to NOT post in that section. Like: "Please DO NOT POST IN THIS SECTION just because you thought up some question!!!!!!"
My guess... uneven wear to tires or bad shocks. Since some people (like a prior owner) put junk on a vehicle and call it a shock, I'll lean shocks.
Thanks for moving my post - didn't realize I was on the FAQ. First time on site - will be more careful in the future. Appreciate the suggestion - will definitely look into it.
