H3 Alpha fan blade

Has anyone ever tried using a 96-98 Ford Explorer 5.0L V8 Metal 9 Blade fan blade for a replacement? I found this over on HUMMER 4x4 Off Road. One guy replaced his blown radiator, new fan clutch and this metal fan. Just curious, the plastic one do have a lifetime. I don't know anything about changes in air flow. I know that I'm about to change my clutch fan and it would be the time to try this.

Hayden 2889 or AC Delco? They run close to the same price for clutches.

Get ear muffs if you plan on doing that, its gonna be loud and it is a fix of something that ain't broke. The plastic OEM fans are designed to last the life of the vehicle.
