Fan clutch adjustment worked Slim line fans didn't
I tried two slimline fans but they could not pull enough air to cool H3 I5 sent setup back for refund. Before putting fan clutch back on made a adjustment to thermostat spring clipped half of tab that went into slot then bent spring flat enough to make up for clipped portant. (shortened thermostadt spring 3/8" put it all back together and fan clutch/fan is back to normal cooling. Maybe after 14 years the spring lost some of its thermal qualitys and shortening it 3/8" brought it back. Checked it after driving hot and it's still freewheeling so it's still working with tempeture not just locked. Electric fan 0 reworked clutch 1 Going to check with kit masters have them sell me one of their +/- 30 degree fan clutches. If your hummer is getting hotter than usual it's worth a try to fix clutch thermostadt spring.
Just keep the clutch fan and add a pusher fan as it helps alot. On the Alpha here with the cooling package (standard on V8 in the middle east) the truck would go upwards to 240* at idle when the fan relays stopped. When fixed it got back to 210* (ac was cooling again too)
Efan conversions are out there and work fine. PMCofNC.com and Supermodulation. I had the PMCofNc version on my 07 for 9 years, removed it when I sold it.
When the stock radiator on my 09 Alpha goes, I have a replacement CSF Aluminum radiator and the Efan will go on it.

Im not gona argue with you doc. Available yes but they are not for everyone or every situation, and there are too many variables with an efan setup to consider before recommending one.
The H3 radiator is undersized for a 5000lb truck that may be towing abit. In hot areas people complain about high temps with the Alpha. I know in this country where we get 125* summers, the H3T alphas that came from the US would redline (hit +245*) while the H3 Alphas that came from SA wouldnt. The difference was 2 pusher fans upfront but I would still hit 230* and not even towing. The 1500 series trucks with the 5.3 run a 28" wide core, a 25% increase over the H3s 22.5" core and that makes a huge difference in cooling, also the reason why a 1500 series has efans from the factory while the H3, tb came with a clutch fan.
