Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Hello everyone, just bought myself a 08 Hummer H3 176k and its awesome. When I bought it the dealer said that the only issue is the fan clutch? can be very loud for a few mins during driving. Then it's good. Should I be worried about this.
Change fan clutch then!
If fan is pulling air and cooling your radiator, you don't mind the noise and adds to HUMM, all is fine.
If temp gauge sits in middle, you are gold.
Of course, I don't know how long fan clutch will work and break down completely, can it break down catastrophically?
I spy with my little eye, that is an X trim, nice! Similar to mine
"Free wheeling"
A fan clutch is a thermostatic engine cooling fan that can freewheel at low temperatures when cooling is not needed, allowing the engine to warm up faster, relieving unnecessary load on the engine. As temperatures increase, the clutch engages so that the fan is driven by engine power and moves air to cool the engine.
