Default H3 Alpha 2009, Multiple System Faults

Hi all,

I have a hummer h3 alpha that is throwing a bunch of system faults in the dash.
  1. Traction Failed
  2. ABS Fault
  3. Brakes Fluid
Other symptoms include total loss of power to:
  1. Power windows
  2. Cabin Air
  3. Wipers
  4. All exterior and interior lights EXCEPT the center rear light
  5. Blinkers
  6. Hazards
The codes I read were P0856 and C0240. I had a friend look at it as well, he took a video of whats going on as well as some of the attempted fixes. Nothing appears to work. Has anyone seen this happen to their own and resolved it?

Couple questions:
1-Do you have a Sunroof? If so, has your passenger side floor ever been wet? Have you done the fix for clogged Sunroof Drains? Finally, a fix for clogged sunroof drain tubes
2- Are you still trying to use the OEM Crappy Azzed Battery Terminal Connectors? If so, hack them off and use a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. Number One (First) Mod to be done to every H3/H3T.

Yes it has a sunroof. The plugs have been removed from the drains. There has been leakage on the passenger side.

I have not replaced the terminals, will try this.

The shop I took it to suspected ECBM at first, but then flipped to ignition switch. I took it home, seemed like they were guessing / throwing parts at the problem.

There is part of your answer and you already no water is getting in. BCM possibly damaged? Corrosion on connections? Water inside BCM? etc? You should eliminate the leak.
Battery cables clean, tight. Oem are adequate for verification purposes.

Take a look at the BCM and its harness/connectors. Your symptoms are all BCM involved because it got wet. You may see some corrosion. If you do, disconnect the battery, clean the connections with the CRC, then see what happens. If you are lucky, you might correct any corrosion related issues.

Yeah, your shop ain't where I would run back to for more work..

Hi all,

Thank you for all of your input. I wanted to close this thread the right way with a proper update. I changed the battery terminals and it appears to have fixed the problem!!

If anyone is searching for an answer here in the future and you have an electrical problem, do yourself a favor and start with your battery terminals!!
