Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Your post mentioned "off-white" and 650Hawk included a screenshot of the correct replacement clips so it seems like you are good to go; however, I did want to point out to anyone else who comes across this thread that there are two variations of these trim retainer clips and they are not interchangeable. You can see in my image below that the off-white clip (left) has equal spacing between the top, middle, and lower round pieces. The pure white retainer clip (right) is nearly identical in size but there is a larger space between the top and middle round pieces. I can't remember exactly what I needed them for, but I ordered the pure white retainer clips by accident the first time and found out the hard way how much difference that spacing makes.
I just verified that the clips the OP needs for the air inlet cowl are in fact the off-white clips with equal spacing but for anyone else out there, just be cautious when buying them and make sure you are getting the correct clip the first time!
Another great informational post, KU1525...I saved this to my document files for future reference. Thanks again!
I sure did not add much, but glad to help. I say thanks to 650Hawk and KU1525 as well.
Doc Olds:
Both 650Hawk & KU1525 helped explain this phenomenon and you should be commended for stepping up and giving them kudos! We need more praise on the forum. Just sayin'
I couldn’t Agree More! Lots of Jockulating with very little Gratitude. WTBS….Thank you, @650Hawk and @KU1525, for your invaluable expertise and assistance in addressing the issues with my Hummer H3 on the forum. I am truly grateful for your willingness to share your expertise and go above and beyond to help fellow enthusiasts like myself.
While I posted the link to the correct clips, it was KU1525 that pointed out (and displayed) that there are 2 different variations. That's something I wasn't aware of, so thanks KU. The knowledge base here just keeps on growing!
I thought it was interesting that Tony even mentioned "off-white", as I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but it turned out to be an important detail. I probably would have just generalized it as 'white'.
It is nice to see the knowledge shared - very helpful!
