Hey guys was driving the h3 the other day when the serpentine belt snapped , popped hood and found the fan blade and the hub came off all together off the water pump shaft. All bolts on blades along with the hub knuckle bolt are all still attached to the fan and hub ... before I pull it out anyone have a idea how this could happen the main bolt on the hub and shaft is tight as **** still so I'm hoping somehow this didn't strip or the possible pump shaft broke ?? Is there a snap ring or something from the fan hub inside to the pump shaft ? I havnt pulled it out yet so don't know what In for yet a d couldn't find or better yet not sure what I'm looking for in order to fix this issue ...any help or advice is appreciated ..thanks guys .

 

at minimum you need a fan clutch and a water pump.
check the fan blades for cracks, the radiator for damage, and the belt.

The Clutch Fan is attached by a single Clutch Fan Nut, the water pump Pulley likely got toasted when the belt came off. They can do some real damage depending upon how the belt fails.
