Anyone have eyes on the mod some people did to enlarge the snorkel that fits in between the fender and the airbox? I think i recall it being a reduced 3” choke point. Im going through the entire intake, exhaust and swapping the 3.5 for a 3.7 so Id like to get everything done before i get it tuned.

I’ve read the open intakes are an obvious no go for heating up the air, also, I’d like to keep the system sealed for dusty southwest conditions. I was thinking to keep the airbox and enlarge the tube connecting it to the outside fender and possible doing the air doc, which removes the resonator Ive grown to hate due to maintenance and oil accumulating in there, or just keeping it and getting a straight pipe. Any eyes on anyone doing the same? Keeping the airbox and the resonator and just replacing the accordion tube and the chicken point into the fender?

 

We have sold Air Doc Intakes doing that for the 2006 & 07 for 17 years, there are 1000s out there on I5 Collys/Canyons and H3s. A straight pipe really is not going to work, you will see when/if you try.

GM redesigned the inlet and Air Box for the 08+ same as the Alpha/V8s so not needed for those.
