My gauge never even gets up to the half mark, no matter the driving conditions.

Alright I got the miss fixed, it was the #1 cyl coil, runs like a top now, drove to North Carolina and back (210 mile round trip) across mountains with ac on and temp gauge never made it to 3/4, just a shade over half, did stop occasionally to check under the hood and no evidence of overheating at all, coolant reservoir at cold level before starting in the mornings and level goes up to about 1/2 to 3/4 inch above cold mark on the reservoir at operating temp so I think my temp is good to go, last night however during a small rain and parked the alarm went off twice, my H3 does not have a sunroof so I don't think it is a water problem, I have searched the forums and can't really find this issue without a sunroof, also my door locks and chime goes off constantly everytime I hit a bump or go around a curve, any suggestions would be appreciated

For the door chimes thing...... You have a bad door sensor switch, check the back door first. Make sure it closes all the way tight. If it doesn't go away, move the switch to another door one at a time while driving in between to see if it stops.

The scan gauge gives real time monitoring among other benefits for issues like this.
