Default engine temp

I have a 2006 H3 I just bought and replaced the leaking radiator, temp gauge is between 1/2 and 3/4 and OBII says 213F while running with ac on after driving over an hour, is that a normal temp or to high?

Incorrect coolant mix is a common issue.

Great place to start since you had to flush the system 3 times? Or you could find a way to install a thermometer into your coolant system.

Whatever, my temp doesn't run to 213°F!
I recently checked the accuracy of the gauge.
Posted below, take note of my engine temp at startup was already @ 115°F(93°F ambient temp):

1/4 gauge: coolant temp: 154°F
Thermostat open: 194°F (drop to 190°F)
Center 1/2 gauge indicator: 195°F
Idle for 1/2hr: 199°F
AC on for 15minutes: 201°F

Indicator still points @ halfway mark, just to the upper part( scanner ect is the bottom line @201°F):

Answer these simple questions. Where are you located and what was the outside air temp when you drove for an hour and saw 213F?

213F with the AC on is COMPLETELY NORMAL when it is hot & muggy enough outside to need to run the AC.

Do us all a favor, search "overheat protection" here or google: "H3 Hummer 3 levels of overheat protection".

Yeah.... and your H3 is not his H3, is it?

It depends on many things, one of the most common reasons for an H3 running warm is a dirty radiator because somebody (current or former owner) just had to go mud bogging through big azzed dirty puddles.

Simple solution is to clean the radiator with a gentle spray of water. Might even use some mild soapy water on both front and back with thorough rinse.
