Unhappy Engine Seems to be "Howling"

so I've looked thru this forum for quite some time as a non-member, I've seen the thread where some were having an issue with the engine sounding like a semi/school bus when accelerating, ive searched for threads but the latest that ive found was from 2014. i was wondering if anyone ever found a solution to the sound or at least a hint of what it could be.
2006 hummer h3 162,000 miles, fan clutch replaced last week, belt tensioner replaced along with it.
any help would be appreciated.

https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/h...lertion-34358/ is the old thread.

how long have you owned the vehicle? i ask only because a fan clutch driven system sounds exactly like a school bus as that is also what they use.

this is actually my second time owning this hummer, I owned it back in 2011 and recently purchased it a Month who, I don’t ever recall the engine sounding so loud, at idle it’s fine, just once the gas is applied it sounds like a lot of air movement to where I can hear it in the cab with music on
that an for the reply

Happens with every clutch fan vehicle when first started and driven away and later when/if they get Hot.

X2. Even the Alphas sound like a plane taking off when the clutch fan is fully engaged. More noise means more sucking of air through the coolers.

Thanks for the info guys!
could I potentially have a faulty temp sensor causing the fan to engage all the time?
temp gauge is always right above half which seem to be very common within the forum

i would say replace the fan clutch but you already did. unless you got used to the sound of one that did not work properly to begin with so not as loud but causes overheating.
