Yep. Those are really beefy cranks. When I took mine to the machine shop, the owner went to pick it up, and had to get a better grasp. He said it was heavier than V8 cranks. There's plenty there to go way oversize on the bearings without worrying about it being weakened.

As to a more practical answer, a 3.5 from a pre-'77 would drop-in but require flashing the computer, but unless you could get one really cheap, I don't see the advantage over another 3.7. Anything else would be a MAJOR and EXPENSIVE conversion.

 

It is all a matter of $$$... the most economical and straight forward is any other 2007 3.7L LLR I5, from an H3, Colorado, Canyon or Isuzu.
