ECM failure "Odometer Malfunction" (?)
I had an ECM failure while I was out of town. As I was trying to crank my car before I realized it was computer problem, my odometer went from 82,756 to 94,456
After having the ECM unit replaced, the odometer reset to 98, 500. No one seems to know what to do about it. The out of town dealer that rep[aired my H3 called
GM tech, and they stated that I can purchase a new instrument cluster with documentation on the mileage and they would best estimate and re-set the odometer
to the nearest average mileage they calculate. I called my local dealer and they have never heard of such....
I called a GM hotline at the recommendation of my local dealer and she put me on hold and we got disconnected. But before I call them back, I'm wondering if this is all worth it.
I a friend of mine said it would flag my car and title it's best to just leave it as I'm still under mileage for the age. I have 2008 Hummer H3.
Any advice on this issue?
