I could not find the relay for my 2008 either. So I removed the stock DRL lights and replaced them with true fog light and wired them to a seperate switch.

I now can turn them on anytime with or without the headlights.

Never mind guys forget my last post. That doesn't seem to be right in a way. Maybe someone who has an 08 can try it.

Step 3: Remove the Prk fuse 10amp and the drl fuse 10amp.

Step 4: lift the park relay and drl relay and place the wire/diode ends (exposed wire) into the specific slots in the relay. 86/85 respectivily. Make sure the little grey strip, the cathode side, is point towards the PRK RELAY 86. Also make sure the diodes wires arent exposed and not grounding on anything.

Step 5: Replace the relays in their specific slots. Make sure to line them up correctly; they got numbers next to the contact points on the bottom so its really easy no to mess this up.

Step 6: Replace the fuses.

Step 7: Enjoy!!
hey hummBob,
i was browsing through the forum on this particular suject and came across your answer and i must say...you showed in great detail a very simple and cost effective method for achieving this.
absolutely fantastic job....i only which all questions could be answered in this manner, it would make life far less complicated.

Cheers

I am fairly handy, but far from a total gear-head. I followed the instructions I found on another forum and it went smooth as silk. Seriously. Simple, simple, simple.

Didn't check this thread totally, but if the schematic isn't here I can get it to you.......schematic on page one....simple!

It literally took me 10-12 minutes.

DRLs are on during the light of day, nothing else is on.

After dark, the headlights come on as normal and the DRLs STAY ON ALSO....regardless if the headlights are on low or high beams.

VERY pleased.

More lighting? Always a good thing and it cost 0.99$ for the diodes at Radio Shack (you get two in the small package...).

Cheers!

PS. Did this yesterday (Dec 4) to my H2....

This arrangement appeals to me. Especially since I am not looking for more illumination from my DRL's {this can be done in many more advantageous ways}. My question is; how likely is a headlight fuse failure after having performed this modification?.........if that likelihood is high, I might consider the 'hazard light' option instead, but I'm still not clear on the functionality of the hazard light hookup option. In this configuration would that mean the DRL's are on whenever the vehicle is on?

TIA

Buck
