Is that car lock symbol the dreaded passlock bo start thing?

 

Clean the ignition switch & connector contacts/terminals.

 

Yes, the car the the lock in front of it does mean that the security system (PassLock) is engaged.

 

I have had the part to fix my ignition switch for over a year (I am concerned about the relearn process), but have a work around which has worked for almost a year and a half.
When turning on the ignition stitch if I only hear one beep tone, turn off the ignition switch open the driver door and try again.
If you here more than two warning beeps try and start. This has worked for me 99.9% of the time
