I haven’t yet, but I’m about to. I’m deciding if I’m just going to have the Passlock delete ($75) done or their full performance tune & PL delete ($209). With the old girl having 136k miles I’m leaning toward just the security fix and leaving well enough alone.

how does it run after their performance tune? Better mileage? Also what’s PL delete?

He thinks you have a pass lock problem............... but that has nothing to do with your aftermarket alarm OEM alarm conflict.

The only way to arm the factory alarm is to lock the truck using the factory key fob. If you're not using that to lock the truck, then it "shouldn't" go off when a door is opened. If it does occasionally still go off, then I'm not sure what to tell you.

^^^^^^^^^Not true! I had a Viper remote start (no alarm) installed right after buying my Alpha new in '08. Never have used the factory fobs, only the Viper fob to lock/unlock & remote start. If I use the key to open my driver's door without using the Viper fob to unlock, the factory horn alarm goes off.

Same with aftermarket RKE's. You need to press lock button on the rke to activate the alarm. Lock the doors manually, will never trigger the alarm.

Interesting. So the Viper FOB is somehow tying into and arming the factory alarm. First I've heard of that happening. Must be something in the BCM that recognizes the door locks being locked by remote rather than manually.

ALL RKE transmitters have to go through the BCM.
