Default Colorado Duramax Diesel in H3

I hoped my click bait header would get people in this thread.
now that I have your attention, you’re related to a Prince in Rippophistan who died leaving you his wealth and land, just send money order to ....

Anyhow back to H3, guy down the road from me had a 2018 Colorado z71 with Duramax Diesel, great looking truck. All I could think was I want it in my H3.

I’m from from smart enough to attempt it, unless I know it works. I know they used the same motor in a few models. Any smart folks think this could work?

I'm guessing your talking about the r2.8?
if so they have used several in different vehicles on the web and in mags but the down side is the initial cost to play.
All the logistics can be figured out as you go and the community of road bone heads has already begun to make stuff.

I’d rather do a LS376/480, drops right in and you have 500hp. Downside is that upgrade is pretty involved for a 3.7 but straightforward for an Alpha. And it will probably eat the trans and front diff on the first launch.

The r2.8 requires all kinds of custom fab work, custom wiring, etc. For that amount of work I want it to be fast, but that’s just me.

Default Not as easy as said

Any engine swap will be very time consuming, lots of finding solutions to problems and sometimes custom one offs.

As for an LS376/480, yes its a drop in, but the swap doesnt really end there. If you wheel the truck on rocks, I would recommend an LS3. Less HP but the cam is more friendly for the type of wheeling. If you are blasting in the desert or just straight highway truck, its good for it. Obviously everything in the truck will require an upgrade to make it reliable as factory otherwise you will end up doing them down the road.

A diesel is great and will be really good in an H3 that tows or goes offroad on rocks, or pavement wise for better mileage.

Thanks,
I have no plans to and wouldn’t know where to start. I’d love to, and asked around what places may charge me. I will say the colorado diesel is really nice
