I hear the lock switching positions and the inside lock button bumps. So, thinking about what brothapig is getting to, you'd think I could open from the outside, but it won't unlatch. I hope I didn't bump something inside when changing parts.

 

EXACTLY> Outdoor handle has a rod to open- Indoor handle has 2 cables simply pull cable insert from inside to unlock & unlatch.

 

Praise the Lord! He lead me to a solution. I saw an old thread on the other H3 forum where a guy said he pulled off the panel from the top at the window seal. It was pretty easy and gave plenty of room to snap the cables in place. As soon as I did that I could open the door. I think the lock was not able to full disengage because only snapping the lock cable allowed the door to open.

I'm one step closer to earning my H3 Repair Ninja badge! Next the dreaded front axle mount bushings - ugh. Got the AC fixed and the window fixed so now I am whole again.

I first got what was supposed to be an AC Delco (but didn't look like it) regulator from gmpartsgiant.com and it was shipped to me broken. They did me wrong and wouldn't take it back. I got a Dorman from Summit and it was so much better looking all around.
