Yep, I'm definately in this boat now. I found out Friday that the TC the dealership installed was not a new one but a used one that came out of a 2006 H3 with 40,000 miles on it. When I purchased it in Jan. 2012 they told me they put in a new one so I didn't think it was the TC. I'm working it out with them. Thanks for your post dafihummer and drtom.

I have a 2006 hummer h3 , same exact problem, binding w/ turning ,it feels like it is stuck in 4hi lock even though the light says its not. took it to firestone they said it was front drive shaft binding up,$650.00 later still not fixed was told to take it to a GM dealer ,they said i need a new trans case $ 2000.00 . I sure could use any help from someone who has had & fixed this problem successfully!!!

I just got mine back from the shop and it drives fine. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed.) I'll be driving it more this week. It shifted in and out of lock perfectly. They replaced the shift fork and according to the dealership, they say it's not required to add more fluid through the speed sensor port. He said they have a bulletin on it, which I should have requested but, he said they put two quarts in it. I wonder, hmm???

2 quarts is too much.. it takes 1.5L or 1.6 quart.. anyhow the TC will get rid of extra oil from the rear shaft..
