Default Been gone awhile.... Hummer H3

Hey Guys,

I have not posted in a very long time. But, I am trying to see is if there is a specialist around for the H3 that could give me some advice. I want to do more of Overlanding setup, not throw on stock parts on it, I have been on Rockauto and looked at some parts. I am also interested in bigger tires I have 285/r16 on it right now. What have you all done to raise the H3, I am not interested in raising the stock torsion bars.

Any help would be great...

Thanks for any input you all can provide.

We all own hummers so this parts list will make sense.

Upper Control Arms
Lower Control Arms
Inner Tie Rods
Outer Tie Rods
Wheel Bearings
CV Axles
Shocks
Ball Joints.

Good to see you back!

Upper Control Arms .................. ACDelco (There some aftermarket very pricy options, but you won't need any). The ACDelcos are getting very hard to find.
Lower Control Arms .................. ACDelco
Inner Tie Rods .......................... ACDelco 16MM
Outer Tie Rods ......................... ACDelco 16MM
Wheel Bearings ........................ ACDelco
CV Axles .................................. ACDelco ONLY! (Most of the aftermarket cheap stuff is cheap for a reason, junk and many times too short).
Shocks ..................................... ACDelco Adventure Model Shocks or Old Man Emu Nitro Chargers
Ball Joints ............................... ACDelco (Only lowers can be serviced).

If you are not interested in adjusting the T Bars, then you won't be lifting anything because that IS what you do, up to a max of 23.5" fender lip to hub center. H3s were specifically designed to allow owners to make this adjustment if they choose to accommodate 35" tires. If you have an I5, I would not do 35" tires. Your 285s are basically 33" diameter tires, you could look at 305s which are still 33", but an inch wider like the 35s.

Torsion bar lift is cheap and easy to do. Not sure why one wouldn't want to do it. All you would need at that point would be an alignment and longer shocks (optional).

Other than that, unless you can get your hands on a lift kit (discontinued), then a body lift and bigger tires are your only cost effective options.
