2009 H3 Vortec 3700. Randomly burps on Passlock which locks out starter for ten minutes and occasionally see security light come on a few seconds while driving. Got new BCM and fobs from Rockauto. Been holding two good keys near Passlock sensor since, stranded less often.

Scan tool is Thinkscan Plus S7, supports key and fob programming. Do I still have to visit a GM shop to program other attributes?

Have you cleaned the ignition switch connections? That's all it should take. See Hummerz photo contribution below....

 

Ran my VIN at a GM dealer. The BCM is one of two applications, I bought the wrong one. Correct part is on the way. Will attempt again next week

For what it's worth I replaced the multifunction switch earlier, the connections should be ok.

So you are guessing if your 13 year old harness connection to the switch is 100% clean.

There is no passlock sensor, H3 keys have NO Chip.

It wouldn't surprise me if there's more electrical gremlins in this old vehicle. Thanks for this. I'll follow up when I get the new one installed.
