Default BCM issues

Hey guys,
I’ve been having some issues with my right brake light and turn signal working consistently.
I am pretty sure at this point it is a BCM issue.
Gm has of course discontinued it.
i have found a website that I am going to try.
https://modulemechanics.com

I will post a follow up once I receive the replacement.
cheers

Well, no luck on the new BCM. It’s a hell of a thing GM would discontinue the single most fragile component in the damn thing, anyway the search continues. I will post here if I find a viable solution
cheers

have you checked the trailer hitch wiring at the rear of the truck? the harness gets rubbed through and cause shorts.

I'm really curious, what are the troubleshooting steps you followed to isolate this to a BCM failure? Given the age of our trucks, most issues like this turn out to be electrical issues in the wiring - chafed harness, bad grounds, dirty contacts in connectors. Detailing how you determined this to be a BCM fault will be helpful to anyone else who is having a similar issue.

Well over the summer, I broke the frame in half so we literally just had the truck taken apart. We had it professionally put back together. The frame was restored by a professional shop here in Birmingham Alabama aside from them troubleshooting the issue. It was also taken to Southern Armature, which is another top-tier electrical shop here in Birmingham and they also said that it was a BCM issue so me personally I don’t know a thing in the world about troubleshooting these issues so I took it to professionals who supposedly know what they’re doing who have both told me that’s what it is.
im absolutely open to any suggestions you can offer please.
The tail light harnesses are new. The trailer wiring harness is also new. The tail lights are new. I think that’s about it. All work done at a professional shop.

one thing of note is my tire brake light, works fine. Its one of the after market ones behind the spare.

in addition to no brake lights turn signals and now side lights also working intermittently. The high fan setting and right side 13v outlet also come and go.

so yes im absolutely open to ideas

thanks again to everyone trying to help.

Wiring/connection/voltage issue NOT a BCM issue. Check +voltage drop from bcm to taillights.

Translation of your "professional" explanation: we did our stuff and there is still a problem and don't blame us because it is this other problem we did not address.

If your electrowizzards are so good, why the hell have they not replaced your BCM with a clone?

They said they couldn’t find one.
I’m doing the best I can here I reached out to you guys for help because the shops I went to obviously aren’t giving me any answers so you know I could do with some actual help instead of condescending comments thanks, Doc

Thank you so much Doc for your help in pointing out my thought to be esteemed electrical repair facility is incompetent.

Thanks also for not banning my azz from this forum so I can find some direction to help me.
